Artist participants were asked to submit the following 3 components for the “Solo Art Series” competition: 1. Their art. 2. Their artist biography. 3. Their artist statement. A careful evaluation of the submissions led to the selection of four artists for month-long solo shows, ensuring a diverse range of artistic styles and approaches would be featured.

Emma Song Yunci, born in 1996, emerges as a rising star in the world of freelance art. Her artistic odyssey is a captivating exploration of femininity, rendered exquisitely through the medium of acrylic portraiture.
With a discerning eye, Emma Song Yunci captures the ephemeral, lazy moments of women's daily lives, imbuing them with a soft, dreamlike color palette. These seemingly ordinary instants are transformed into profound expressions of emotional depth, as she delves into the intricate nuances of her subjects' demeanors. Through her art, she masterfully weaves together the threads of natural visual allure and the indomitable inner vitality of women, creating a visual narrative that resonates deeply.
From 2014 to 2018, Emma Song Yunci embarked on an academic adventure at the China University of Geosciences in Wuhan. There, she immersed herself in the study of Jewelry Design, earning a Bachelor's degree. This educational journey not only honed her creative sensibilities but also instilled in her a unique perspective on form, color, and material, which would later inform her artistic practice.
As a freelance artist, my work is deeply rooted in my personal understanding and belief in the transformative power of art. This collection seeks to capture the inherent power and tranquility of life, reflecting the gentle beauty of women as they nurture life, alongside their resilient energy in navigating its highs and lows. My creative philosophy is inspired by the ebbs and flows of existence—life, much like an ocean, is a journey of ups and downs, where we often confront solitude and challenges.
In my artistic process, I employ soft colors to evoke the tenderness of women, often portraying serene, everyday moments that highlight their natural beauty. Simultaneously, I strive to capture the profound vitality in their expressions, revealing the dynamic essence of life itself. My canvas becomes a medium to infuse visual vitality, softness, and a sense of peaceful stillness—a much - needed balm in a complex and turbulent world. I believe people crave beauty, and this world, in turn, yearns for the healing that beauty can bring.
My art is a journey of redemption, both for myself and for others. Through the slow, deliberate flow of my brushstrokes, I traverse time and space, drawing strength from the act of creation. In this intricate world, I find solace in the beautiful moments I depict. Looking ahead, I envision my future works embracing the lost and downtrodden—those who feel broken or overlooked. I aim to paint their stories, to dust off their weary souls, and to offer them a path forward through the restorative power of art.
