Throughout his early years he was inspired by his father’s well known original architectural designs and art collection, his mother’s creative gift of storytelling and the entire family’s passion for theatre, museums, gallery art and symphonies.
Glaser graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre and English and a Masters Degree in Theatre Arts from Boston University.
Throughout his twenties he continued act, draw, paint, and write poetry and screenplays. He played the role of Perchik in the acclaimed film Fiddler on the Roof; in later years, he toured Europe as Tevye in the stage version of that work. In 1974, Glaser was chosen out of hundreds of actors to play a leading role on the award-winning television series Starsky and Hutch which to this day continues to attract world-wide viewership. The keen viewer will often see Glaser's artwork in many of the TV series scenes.
Glaser grew in a variety of disciplines including directing, creating, writing and production. He published a successful book, “Chrystallia And The Source Of Light”, and a book of his artwork integrated with poetry, "The Edge of Whimsy."
In August 2020, Glaser created a new Website, PMGlaserART, through which he has sold over 1,700 of his artistic offerings throughout the world. Additionally, Glaser has been invited to associate with multiple galleries throughout the United States and the United Kingdom through which the demand for his artwork continues to thrive.
My style of artwork emanates from the many facets of my life, both joyous and tragic and full of incredible highs and unbearable lows. In my art I enjoy inhabiting contradiction and irony, sometimes humorous, sometimes painful, each conflicting with while illuminating the other. To experience both, for me, is the edge of whimsy.
I have spent much of my time in recent years devoted to 21st century modern art disciplines. Abstracts, body-forms, and portraits are represented in my collections, as are the creatures and every-day objects which draw in the eye for their colors, unique digital brush work and other worldliness. I equally enjoy expressing my art through digital painting, pencil and charcoal, painted sketches, and illustrations.
In my professional career, I was fortunate to be a part of such an iconic show, and I’ve also been privileged to have the opportunity and the platform to find my own voice, or maybe voices through these artworks. I’m quite a private person, but I’m grateful for the encouragement I’ve had that’s given me the impetus to share this work.
My work with my late wife's Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation is still a primary focus, and I plan to continue to integrate my art into the furthering of this life-saving passion.
