Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is extremely pleased to announce that Maureen Ravnik has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and she will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.

Maureen is an award-winning artist based in Colorado, USA. Maureen was selected as 1 of the top twelve finalists in the gallery’s 21st Solo Art Exhibition Series. The placement in this competition qualified her art to be showcased in this feature.

Maureen’s Artist Showcase feature will be promoted to over 350+ major news outlets, with inclusion on Google News & Bing News. In addition, the gallery will also be featuring and promoting her artwork in the gallery’s various social media networks for further exposure.

Below are Maureen’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 images that were submitted to this competition.

Artist Biography

Maureen Ravnik was born and raised in Minnesota.  After attending college in Colorado, she stayed and never looked back.  Working and traveling opened her eyes to the wonders of the American west and reawakened childhood tendencies to creatively document her discoveries.  She began making images of the American west in hopes of preserving the history, the culture, and the dreams that shaped the west. Today, Maureen’s time is spent outdoors taking in and capturing the scenery, wildlife, and exploring other methods for interpreting and sharing what she sees and experiences along the way.

Maureen has accomplished many things with her photography including images placed in the Audubon International Top 250, local, national and international juried photography exhibitions, winning placements in monthly club competitions, state park calendars, images selected for use by the City of Littleton, Colorado, and many images selected as editor picks on National Geographic and for publication. Her work has been the subject of several newspapers. She has co-authored 2 books that document the history, beauty and environment of the second largest natural area in the country.  Maureen has also served as a juror for the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts in Colorado.

Maureen’s goal is to continually look for new ways to challenge herself and express what she feels. That is what inspires her to never reject possibilities in subject matter.

Artist Statement

My techniques are largely self-taught. I am deeply inspired by Ansel Adams and Art Wolfe. My greatest reward comes from developing composites. My work is delivered in an array of styles that arc between passionately abstract and doggedly figurative.

Artists were asked for their interpretation of the “Seascapes” theme by submitting their best abstract or representational art. The submission process and competition for the artists began in June 2022 and concluded on July 27, 2022.

The “Solo Art Series” is a series of monthly solo art exhibitions for established artists who have a body of work to present to the public.  Artist participants were asked to submit the following 3 components for the “Solo Art Series” competition: 1. Their art.  2. Their artist biography.  3.  Their artist statement.  These elements were evaluated and judged, which resulted in the selection of the artists who will be featured in individual month-long solo art exhibitions.  This was the 21st “Solo Art Series” Art Competition that the gallery has conducted.

Below are Judy’s Artist Biography, her Artist Statement, along with 25 of her digital paintings.  We hope that you will take the time to read Judy’s information and to take a look at her artwork.

Artist Biography

Judy is an award winning artist. Her artwork was selected as a juried finalist in Artist’s Magazine Annual Art Competition. Her work was published in Southwest Art Magazine and Artist Portfolio Magazine. She was also named the cover artist of Artist Portfolio Magazine. “My art is mostly from my own life experiences: my home, the town I've been living in for years, places I visited in the past, my children’s activities and people I met. I painted people or the moments in my life that moved me. I hope the viewers will relate my artwork to their own life” remarks Judy. While Judy paints various subjects, portraits are always Judy’s favorite. She is fascinated by every human face, whether an old woman in Nepal or a little girl next door. She not only wants to paint an individual's face but his/her soul. When asked about her painting style, Judy described her style as classic realism with a contemporary approach. She wants to show painterly quality of her work not photo realistic or total classic realism. She likes to use an abstract background to her portrait to show some contemporary feeling and use bold brush strokes to evoke emotions and inject energy. For medium choice, she loves Oil. Judy studied at Watts Atelier of the Arts and Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts.

Artist Statement

To me, art is a way to document my life and express my feelings. My art is mostly from my own life experiences: my home, the town I've been living in for years, places I visited in the past, my children’s activities and people I met. I painted people or the moments in my life that moved me. I hope the viewers will relate my artwork to their own experiences.

The Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is pleased to announce it has launched a new archive website to host our past exhibitions.

As many of you may know, over the last several weeks, the LST website has been experiencing intermittent slow loading and downtime. This “intermittent” has become more frequent after our hosting company migrated our site to a newer, supposedly faster, server. However, as a result of the continued issues with the website, we have changed hosting companies and created an archive site as a complement to the main Light Space & Time gallery website.

As one of the longest running online art gallery websites, the LST site has hundreds of exhibitions and, as such, is a very large, image heavy site. Websites with the sheer amount of content and number of images as we have can sometimes become unstable and experience issues.

After extensive consultation with our web development and technical support team, it was decided that moving older content to an archive website would help ensure we could preserve our older exhibitions and continue to provide artists with a place to showcase their talent long into the future.

Prior to Fusion Art purchasing LST from John Math in 2018, the oldest exhibitions were already being purged in an effort to make room for the newer exhibitions. We did not want to continue to do this, and have artists lose elements of their portfolios, so the solution was the creation of an archive website to host these past exhibitions for the long term.

Therefore, all monthly and special exhibitions, solo art exhibitions and artist showcases prior to January 2022 will now be hosted on our new archive website – LightSpaceTimeArchives.art.

In order to access any exhibitions prior to January 2022, just add the word “archives” to the current URL of your exhibition. It will then take you to the archives site and directly to the exhibition you are looking for.

Alternatively, you can visit the main LST website and click the LST Archives button in the menu bar at the top of every page. This will take you to the archives site and you can find your exhibitions in the applicable section.

All other content, including current art competitions and exhibitions (January 2022 and beyond), art marketing articles, artist news and testimonials remain on the main LST site.

The gallery’s competition for June 2022 was the 12th Annual “Open” Online Art Competition. 2D and 3D artists, (including photography & digital art) from around the world, were called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion in to the Gallery’s July 2022 online group art exhibition.

Artists were asked for their interpretation of the “Open” theme by submitting their best abstract or representational art. The submission process and competition for the artists began in May 2022 and concluded on June 27, 2022.

The gallery received 635 entries from 25 different countries from around the world, as well as from 29 different states and the District of Columbia.

The exhibition has been divided into three media categories.  Painting & Other Media, Photography & Digital and 3 Dimensional Art categories.  In addition, there is an overall Winning Artists Category, which is the “best of the best” and consists of the ten (10) best entries comprised from all the media categories.

The gallery also included Special Merit awards and Special Recognition awards for outstanding art. Many of the artists in either of these groups could have easily been included in the upper tier of our winners, as their art was also exceptional.

All winning entries will now be featured on the Light Space & Time website for the month of July 2022. Thereafter, the artworks and links to the artist’s websites will remain online in the Light Space & Time Archives.

Congratulations to our artists who made our 12th Annual “Open” Art Exhibition so successful this month. At any time, we invite our winning artists and other interested visitors to link their websites to the Gallery’s archive page for further ongoing promotion.

For over 12 years, the Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery (LST) has been an advocate for artists by helping them to market and sell their art online and around the world.

As a subsidiary of Fusion Art, the gallery’s mission is to promote artists though online art exhibitions, our extensive social media and marketing networks and through our combined newsletter subscribers list of over 35,000+ subscribers. Our extensive mailing lists includes gallery owners, corporate art representatives, art collectors, art consultants and decision makers in the fine arts field.

Through both our online art galleries, Fusion Art and LST provide one of the most advanced and widespread art marketing packages offered by any other online gallery.

As we are constantly searching for new ways to promote and provide marketing and sales opportunities for our artists, LST is thrilled to announce we have new awards and marketing benefits that will launch this summer.

Cash Award to Overall Top Winner

The gallery is pleased to announce that is will start awarding a monetary cash prize to the Overall Top Winner of its monthly online art competitions. In order to be more competitive, we have decided to offer a cash award to the Overall 1st Place winner of each exhibition. The amount of the monetary prize will be determined by the number of entries that are received in each competition.

Newly Updated Art Marketing Success Manual

Our previous Art Marketing Success Manual was getting outdated so we are working on a new updated version to encompass our more recent and most up to date information and recommendations for artists to market, promote and sell their art. The updated Art Marketing Success Manual will be available starting with the awards presented in September.

Discount for .ART Domains

We have always encouraged artists who are serious about their art, want to advance their art careers and increase sales, on how important it is to have a have a modern, professional, up-to-date website to display their art. The introduction of the .ART domains in 2016 was an ingenious way for artists to differentiate their websites, from the average website domain, and to emphasize their artistry.

Through a new partnership with the .ART domain registration service, we are going to be able to offer a discount to our top award winning artists who want to take the next step in their art careers or even upgrade their current website and brand to include the .ART affiliation.

Discount for Artspan Art Marketplace

We have now partnered with Artspan Art Marketplace to offer our top winning artists discounted plans for their platform. Artspan was the first artist-specific website builder company, formed in 1999. Particularly for artists who may not be computer or tech savvy and may want an easily designed website to showcase and sell their art, Artspan is a leader in the market.

Artists who sign up will receive a personal branded website, which is also integrated into the Artspan marketplace, thus giving artists two venues to use in selling their art – their own individual sites and the Artspan Marketplace.  Similar to our partnership with Artwork Archive, Light Space & Time's top winning artists will receive special discounts that are higher than is offered to the general public.

All of the above new awards will be offered starting with the August competition, the 6th Annual “Patterns, Textures & Forms” competition, which launches on July 10th. As a means to defray at least some of the costs for these new awards, the gallery will be increasing entry fees slightly, starting with the June competition. To see the current competitions that are accepting entries, visit the LST home page.

Many of the partnerships we are forming with companies offer affiliate referral programs. We have waived and/or drastically reduced affiliate commissions in exchange for offering higher discounts and more benefits to artists who are referred by Fusion Art and LST.

These new awards are our way of saying Thank You to all our artists for being part of the Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery, for sharing your talent with us and allowing us to help you promote and market it to the world.

Suzie Sullivan's lifelong passion for art and craft work began as a child in the UK. Throughout her life she has always had hobby projects on the go but could only have dreamt where it would lead. She has always had a fascination for Ireland and moved there in 2001. She loves what Ireland has to offer - music, culture, ancient legends and fairy tales and the wide-open spaces - and all of this is reflected in her work. She is now known throughout Ireland and beyond for her work in fibre art, polymer clay and flame worked glass. She has won several prestigious awards for her art and craft and has participated in many exhibitions and shows. She has also shared her extensive knowledge with many students over the years. Suzie is a self-taught artist, preferring to work and experiment in the peace of her own studio tucked away in the beautiful wild landscape of the west of Ireland.

Artist Statement

Nestled in the beautiful landscape of Co Mayo, Ireland is a small studio where self-taught artist Suzie Sullivan spends her days creating art and craft. For many years Suzie has been better known as a textile artist working with wool and fibre, but in 2019 she changed direction and started working with polymer clay. This new material has opened a whole new world of texture and creativity. Her work represents a unique vision of an imaginary world of nature, capturing extravagant forms, colours and patterns derived from the natural world we live in. This latest body of small sculptures is titled ‘If you go Down to the Woods Today’. These sculptures are meticulously detailed and are intended to evoke dreams, childhood memories and the desire to escape to a world of one’s own making. They are made with a wire armature built up with layers of polymer clay and richly embellished with unique colour blends and complex polymer clay cane work.

Suzie’s art can be viewed on her Instagram.

Rawdon artist Geneviève Chaussé will exhibit her creation “Perfect Balance” at BORDERS - Venice International Art Fair 2021 during the collective exhibition Future Landscapes. This first participation is a door wide open to the multidisciplinary of the artist and the broadness of her imaginary world.

Geneviève is currently creating her first major body of work entitled “Bodies and Souls”. This piece of art “Perfect Balance” is the first in a series of 12 works in progress. Three are completed. This project is created from surrealist universes from an imagination where the mind and the heart meet. Art that aims to be visionary and symbolic where dreams, reality and feelings come together harmoniously.

Her works are initially juxtaposed by digital collage as a first draft. The process is instinctive and prevails in her current artistic approach. This provides her with the almost immediate realization which is ideal for not losing the spark, as she calls it. She enjoys the speed and ease of execution to remain true to the messages of hope and love that she receives and that she interprets.

Beginning with a meticulous drawing as faithful as possible, she then painted with watercolour and acrylic paint this universe that awaits her. Her formats are currently very small (8 x 8 inches) but she aspires to paint them in large formats (36 x 36 inches) and have them travel all over the globe.

Geneviève first received an invitation from the project coordinator since she did not know this organization at all and subsequently, the curator Luca Curci agreed to include the work she had submitted. Luca Curci is the founder and director of ITSLIQUID Group, a web-based information platform, founded in 2001, dedicated to the worldwide distribution of information about calls for entries, exhibitions and events at some of the world’s leading art galleries, museums and foundations selected.

The exhibition will take place at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space in Venice, Italy from August 30th to September 19th, 2021, located right next to St. Mark's Basilica, in the square of the same name. You can follow the event live on Facebook on Monday, August 30th, 2021 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm EDT by clicking here: https://www.facebook.com/events/837143347173891
