We recently conducted a survey on the art gallery's Facebook page titled “What Stops You from Creating Your Art?” There were minor differences in the answers but we were able to group them into a top 10 list of the reasons why artists do not create more artwork.
The survey was conducted over a week's period of time, in the fall of 2017 from approximately 12,000 members of the Facebook Business page - Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery. The group consists of artists, art professionals, and art lovers from various location in the world.
Here are the results of the gallery's survey "What Stops You from Creating Your Art?".
We all have to deal with various issues which limit us in the pursuit of our art. The day-to-day rigors of life prevent us from doing what we love.
Health issues can derail us for extended periods of time as can family and/or work issues. As artists, we can use these fallow times to enrich ourselves with information from books and/or the Internet. We can stay connected to our creative community via the phone, Internet and bricks and mortar world.
The more art we create and share, the more confidence we will achieve. As I have mentioned in my other articles, it is critical for any artist to participate in the creative community. In this network, we find support as well as learn how other creatives have tackled questions five through ten.
We want to thank everyone who provided their answers for the survey. We can take comfort in knowing we are not alone in the challenges of creating art.
