The Dogwood Arts Festival, in its 52nd year, transforms Knoxville into a month long springtime celebration with a “blue jean to black tie” festival offering something for everyone. LOUDON, TN – February 25, 2012 / - Dennis Sabo, a frequent Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery artist is pleased to announce that he recently won 2 awards from the 2012 SANP (Southern Appalachian Nature Photographers ) Photographic Salon.
Awards were given in two classes; Photographer I and Photographer II and in a variety of categories; Scenic, Wildlife, Places and Travel, Plants, Altered Nature, and Simplicity.
Dennis took home two awards in the Photographer II Digital Division. He received a First place award in the Altered Nature Category for his piece entitled; “Enchanted Forest”. In addition, he received a Second place award in the Plants Category for the piece entitled “Morning has Broken.” Dennis states about the awards, “I am extremely pleased by the recognition of my photography as the SANP attracts the best nature photographers of the region and to be a part of the group and the Salon awards is a great honor to me.”
The Southern Appalachian Nature Photographers is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to photography of the natural environment. Their motto is "Sharing the Awareness of Nature thru Photography." The group was founded in 1991 and SANP's home base is in Knoxville, TN. SANP holds meetings which feature highly skilled nature photographers from the region as well as nationally known artists from across the country. In addition, they have numerous field trips and seminars which are free to more than 150 of their members.
