DUBLIN, IRELAND - July 1, 2017 - / -- "Tempus Fugit - Time Flies" is a new solo art exhibition by Irish Artist Paula Pohli. The exhibition will open in darc space gallery, 26 North Great George's Street, Dublin 1, Ireland. The date of the opening is September 7th, 2017 at 6:00 pm and continues until October 6th. Dr Edward McParland will open the exhibition.
This exhibition features 40 new works of Ms. Pohli’s created between 2015 and 2017. These works includes linocuts (hand burnished), egg tempera paintings on panels and egg tempera brush drawings.
Tempus Fugit is a subtle exhibition about the elusive and quick passage of Time, as expressed in paintings and prints of birds, insects, flowers, trees, barns, nature and one portrait. Life, decay, birth, death and the energy of life are themes of these new paintings and prints.
A highlight of the exhibition is a large calendarium, Time Flies, twelve linocuts of dead flies from January through to December. As a memento mori, it is a visual reminder that time flies from month to month and from one year to the next. Exhibited 2016 in the 135th Royal Ulster Academy Annual Exhibition, Ulster Museum, Belfast.
