ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL – August 23, 2016 - / Artist Rusty Wahl is very pleased to announce that her art was juried into the Florida Hospital-Altamonte’s “You Are My Sunshine” Art Exhibition. This exhibition opens on September 1, 2016 and will be on display for the next 3 months.
Rusty’s the "Sunshine Dancer" is an acrylic painting, it is 18” X 24” and is one of the pieces that is to be featured in this exhibition.
The Seminole Cultural Arts Council (SCAC) partners with Florida Hospital-Altamonte to offer an innovative Art in Public Places program in Seminole County. It explores healing and connection through art.
There are four distinct cycles per year, each beginning with a Call to Artists. Jpeg images of art are submitted by Florida artists via email to SCAC and are forwarded to an art review panel at Florida Hospital-Altamonte. The panel chooses 25-35 pieces per quarter by juried process. The physical artworks selected by the panel are then displayed in the Art of Healing Gallery Exhibition area on the first floor of Florida Hospital-Altamonte, beginning with an opening night reception for participating artists and guests.
Each exhibition is free and open to the public, and hangs for a period of approximately 85 days during which time a new Call to Artists is broadcast, and the program repeats itself. All art in the Gallery is for sale, with the artist receiving 75% of the sale and 25% to Florida Hospital’s charitable arm.
This exhibit, "You Are My Sunshine", will hang for about 3 months. The opening reception is Thursday, September 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Art of Healing Gallery, located on the first floor of Florida Hospital-Altamonte, 601 East Altamonte Drive (SR 436) in Altamonte Springs. The reception is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are appreciated: 407-303-5395.
