Shirley Rudolf was invited to be a part of an article entitled "Mixture of Media" in the Southwest Art Magazine's January 2014 Issue. The article post "Mixture of Media" explains that oil paintings used to be the only long-lasting media; but today, through "new technologies in reducing or eliminating archival and longevity concerns" artists are now finding new mediums to display on collectors' and galleries' walls.
Samplings of a wide range of media like pastels, watercolors, and acrylics are displayed in the January 2014 issue of Southwest Art Magazine. KIRKLAND, WA – November 19, 2013 - / Shirley Rudolf is proud to announce that her acrylic painting titled “Red Poppy” has been accepted into the International Society of Acrylic Painters' 6th Annual Signature Member Online Show. The juror of this show was Robert Burridge, a nationally renowned artist of mixed media. In addition, Burridge is a signature member of the International Society of Acrylic Painters (ISAP).
The mission of the ISAP is "to represent and encourage artists using acrylic media and to promote the use of acrylic by painters worldwide. It strives to serve acrylic artists by recognizing and rewarding their talent and provides a means where the world can be made aware of the acrylic medium as a major form of expression."

Shirley Rudolf describes her piece that is in the show, “The painting I entered is called "Red Poppy," and it's 30 x 48 in size. I saw this bloom while out walking the neighborhood, and instantly knew this would be a striking piece of art, it's one of my favorites.”
About the Artist:
Rudolf’s paintings reflect confidence and expression through the use of vibrant colors and captured details. Her works encompass a wide range of subjects--flowers, landscapes, and animals. Shirley has a style that resembles Georgia O'Keefe.
