Gillian Cox has Her Art Selected for Two Art ShowsKINGSBRIDGE, DEVON, UK - January 20, 2012 / - Gill Cox is very pleased to announce that her artwork has recently been chosen for two art shows to be held in the spring and early summer in her native United Kingdom.

First, her artwork titled “The Way I See It” will be shown at the Flavel Arts Centre, which is located in the historic harbour town of Dartmouth, UK. The Flavel Arts Centre will be showing Gill’s artwork from April 2, through to April 16, 2012. Their website is http://www.theflavel.org.uk/

Secondly, Gill’s art will be shown at this year’s Queens Diamond Jubilee at her local village church. Also, her humble dwelling sits nearby, where much of her art work will also be for sale, in order to help raise funds for the historic Marlborough Church. This event runs from June 2, through to June 9, 2012.

Gill is a lifelong artist who has become known and gained the reputation as a specialist in both color and light, displayed over a wide range of subject matter. Once an art teacher, she now is able to create her art for her own pleasure. She is comfortable working in any painting medium. Her thirst for enjoying a new challenge lends spirit and adventure to each new work. She states that “this stimulation is the key to building spontaneity, rhythm and flow in order to provide a sense of movement and the necessary atmosphere, to involve the viewer.”

She also states about her love of creating art “Colour, light and atmosphere are vital ingredients towards fulfilling the passion I feel when painting. This is very much a part of how I wish to get my message across to those who enjoy the finished results.”

Recently she received her third Special Recognition Award from the Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery in the Seascapes category titled “Now Listen Carefully”, oil on board painting. In 2011 she received Special Recognition Awards for the gallery’s Botanical and Animal Art Exhibitions. In addition, Gill’s art has been exhibited in various venues spread across Devon including locally at The Mayne Gallery, Kingsbridge and The Royal William Yard, Plymouth, UK.

Her paintings have found homes in Sussex, Hampshire, and Berkshire, UK, as well as in France, Canada and the United States. Her website can be found at http://www.gillcoxart.co.uk/
