Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is extremely pleased to announce that Connie Rogers has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and she will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.

Connie is an award-winning artist and photographer based in Florida, USA. She was selected as 1 of the top twelve finalists in the gallery’s 30th Solo Art Exhibition Series. The placement in this competition qualified her work to be showcased in this feature.

Her Artist Showcase feature will be promoted to hundreds of major news outlets. In addition, the gallery will also be featuring and promoting her artwork in the gallery’s various social media networks for further exposure.

Below are Connie’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 of her photographs submitted to this competition.

Artist Biography

As a California girl, Connie Rogers has traveled and landed in 5 different states before calling Florida her home. As a self-taught artist, photographer, and acrylic painter for over 22 years Connie believes everything we do is surrounded by art. ‘ART’ somehow speaks to our soul and has been proven to heal the mind.

Her photography is deliberate in its focus on color, beauty, and nature. She begins her morning with daily meditation. When she engages her lens, she doesn’t hear the chatter of others; she listens to the voice of just ‘that’ moment.  She reminds herself of what Ansel Adams once said, “With his camera he comes across something that excites him emotionally, spiritually or aesthetically… he takes that perfect shot and prints exactly how it made him feel.”

Connie is passionate about choosing outdoor photo shoots, wildlife, clouds/mountains/ lakes, people, and celebrations. We all somehow come together when we touch and share a moment with others through the camera’s eye.

What inspires her work? Connie brings her camera every morning with her, whether exercising on the beach at sunrise or skiing 10,000 feet high in the Rocky Mountains because she believes many surprise opportunities exist to capture beauty. She hopes, one day, to publish her artwork in a ‘tabletop book’ for your home. She is an award winner of several contest in photography, digital art and acrylic paintings. (Fusion Art, Light Space & Time, Circle Foundation, Camelback Gallery)

Artist Statement

Here for my Solo Art Page, I've chosen examples of Beauty at the Beach. My motivation is to share with you my love for Mother Nature's sunrise, shadows, and never ending amazing colors, seamlessly placed perfectly at my camera's eye. Can you imagine what's missing - the sounds from chirping birds to the ocean roars.

Artist Statement

From the moment I received my first camera as a young boy, I have been fascinated by how every individual sees the same imagery, and chooses to capture it, in remarkably different ways. I have long realized that my way of observing and documenting the world around us — from what I decide to shoot to how I actually proceed in doing so — is unique to me as an artist, which is why I love expressing myself through the medium of photography.

With my images, I strive to demonstrate that our world is a continuously fascinating and beautiful place offering endless aesthetic pleasures to those who take the time to observe its nuances intentionally closely. My current project, from which these five photographs have been culled, is titled Kids in the Streets.

The “Solo Art Series” highlights the work of established artists, who have a body of work to showcase, through a series of online monthly solo exhibitions. Artist participants were asked to submit the following 3 components for the “Solo Art Series” competition: 1. Their art.  2. Their artist biography.  3.  Their artist statement.  A careful evaluation of the submissions led to the selection of four artists for month-long solo shows, ensuring a diverse range of artistic styles and approaches would be featured.

Presented below are Emma's artist biography and statement, together with 10 of her acrylic paintings. We encourage you to peruse her information and admire her art.

Artist Biography

Emma Song Yunci, born in 1996, emerges as a rising star in the world of freelance art. Her artistic odyssey is a captivating exploration of femininity, rendered exquisitely through the medium of acrylic portraiture.

With a discerning eye, Emma Song Yunci captures the ephemeral, lazy moments of women's daily lives, imbuing them with a soft, dreamlike color palette. These seemingly ordinary instants are transformed into profound expressions of emotional depth, as she delves into the intricate nuances of her subjects' demeanors. Through her art, she masterfully weaves together the threads of natural visual allure and the indomitable inner vitality of women, creating a visual narrative that resonates deeply.

From 2014 to 2018, Emma Song Yunci embarked on an academic adventure at the China University of Geosciences in Wuhan. There, she immersed herself in the study of Jewelry Design, earning a Bachelor's degree. This educational journey not only honed her creative sensibilities but also instilled in her a unique perspective on form, color, and material, which would later inform her artistic practice.

Artist Statement

As a freelance artist, my work is deeply rooted in my personal understanding and belief in the transformative power of art. This collection seeks to capture the inherent power and tranquility of life, reflecting the gentle beauty of women as they nurture life, alongside their resilient energy in navigating its highs and lows. My creative philosophy is inspired by the ebbs and flows of existence—life, much like an ocean, is a journey of ups and downs, where we often confront solitude and challenges.

In my artistic process, I employ soft colors to evoke the tenderness of women, often portraying serene, everyday moments that highlight their natural beauty. Simultaneously, I strive to capture the profound vitality in their expressions, revealing the dynamic essence of life itself. My canvas becomes a medium to infuse visual vitality, softness, and a sense of peaceful stillness—a much - needed balm in a complex and turbulent world. I believe people crave beauty, and this world, in turn, yearns for the healing that beauty can bring.

My art is a journey of redemption, both for myself and for others. Through the slow, deliberate flow of my brushstrokes, I traverse time and space, drawing strength from the act of creation. In this intricate world, I find solace in the beautiful moments I depict. Looking ahead, I envision my future works embracing the lost and downtrodden—those who feel broken or overlooked. I aim to paint their stories, to dust off their weary souls, and to offer them a path forward through the restorative power of art.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is extremely pleased to announce that Nymera Thornton has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and she will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.

Nymera is an award-winning artist based in Texas, USA. She was selected as 1 of the top twelve finalists in the gallery’s 30th Solo Art Exhibition Series. The placement in this competition qualified her artwork to be showcased in this feature.

Her Artist Showcase feature will be promoted to hundreds of major news outlets. In addition, the gallery will also be featuring and promoting her artwork in the gallery’s various social media networks for further exposure.

Below are Nymera’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 of her artworks submitted to this competition.

Artist Biography

Nymera Thornton is a native Tejano fine artist of the Representational style, with their main oeuvre composed of oil portraiture and watercolor illustration. With over a decade of experience practicing interdisciplinary traditional and digital mediums and having earned a BFA in Illustration at Academy of Art University as a first-gen student, their background in the arts is backed by committed and diverse studies. Nymera's passions lie not just in making art, but studying art histories and using the arts to educate as well. Having served in their local arts communities by volunteering at the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and working as an Art Teacher for the Non-Profit Organization Creative Action for over 2 years, teaching students social justice topics through visual art, their creative experiences are manifold and continue to evolve.

Nymera has effectively intermingled their passions for exploring and creating art. Being a culture enthusiast and self-proclaimed 'Artist-Explorer', their work serves as both a visual provenance of their travels and a social commentary on nature conservation and cultural celebration as they depict iconic landscapes and heritage sites. When they are not creating, Nymera is traveling and learning, obtaining muses from the world around; passionate to connect with people, and study the past to build a better future. For 8 months in 2023, Nymera backpacked through 20 countries with a few clothes, two pairs of shoes, some art supplies, and a camera as they explored cultures and unique landscapes firsthand. These travels among their many others serve as a muse for much of their work now as they create windows to the world in hopes of inspiring and educating others.

Artist Statement

My oeuvre includes a diversity of interconnected subject matter including material culture, iconic landscapes and heritage sites represented through watercolor and oil mediums. My body of work is, overall, a provenance of my own exploratory experiences and a documentation of important natural or cultural sites and objects. Each piece can be paired with a photograph, diary entry or research in tandem, creating a syzygy between a documentation of what I saw, and an artistic interpretation, or how I saw it.

Stylistically I am most inspired by artist-architects of the 19th century such as Frederick Catherwood, and Romantic-representational landscape artists like Thomas Cole, who each used dramatized line work to capture intricately detailed vistas and artifacts, often pushing contours to evoke fantasy. My paintings as a result are either dreamy and idealized, or filled with vibrant details, flat color and exaggerated contours, stylizing and personalizing these key features.

Philosophically I aim to embody the ‘Citizen of Earth’ spirit, Transcendentalism, and the zeitgeist of Romanticism - an era which, through its artists, elevated exalted ethos including: a reverence of and spiritual connection towards nature, an appreciation of ancient, folk and ethnic cultures, and the championing of the individual’s unique experiences and perspectives in the world. It is through the work of explorers and artists alike from this era and onward that helped to truly invoke xenophilia and environmentalism to an otherwise unknowing modern society, thus amplifying cultural curiosity and nature conservation efforts over time. This is precisely my intention when creating. With these syncretic intellectual and spiritual ideologies in mind, the common denominator can be recognized as the biophilia hypothesis - which highlights Man’s innate affinity to Nature. As such, each solitary landscape I depict is a recognizable and tremendously culturally significant space in and of itself, celebrating this simple aspect of human nature.

Succinctly, I create documentative windows to the world, inviting viewers into intertwined natural and cultural spheres. Using my art, I spotlight peoples, places, and things that I feel are out of reach from the common eye and heart, but by contrast have deeply imprinted upon my spirit. My art is for the conscious explorer who seeks within as much as they seek out. It is necessary to restate that the images I create are not just material culture stills or landscape portraits. They are paper trails of my life - a visual diary representing some of my greatest experiences, my inveterate studies and personal philosophies. They serve as preserved memories - personal educational, emotional and aesthetic experiences that I wish to share.

Ultimately, my wish as an artist is to raise awareness to heritage sites, natural landscapes, and cultural identities which continue to be threatened by misunderstanding, malice, and indifference. My wish as a human is to, and for others to, in the spirit of Meliorism continue to learn about the world and people around us we do not yet know or appreciate so we may transform our ignorance into compassion, genuine connection, wholesome curiosity and positive action.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is extremely pleased to announce that Gabriele Gracine has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and she will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.

Gabriele is an award-winning artist based in Colorado, USA.

Below are Gabriele’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 of her artworks submitted to this competition.

Artist Biography

Gabriele Gracine is a self-taught digital artist, inspired and energized by a proprietary technique that she continuously explores and refines. In 2015, she was in her mid-sixties and navigating a transitional chapter in her life, searching for purpose, unsure of what lay ahead. She could never have imagined how profoundly her life was about to change.

On one ordinary day in September of that year, a simple twist of fate marked the beginning of her journey as an artist. She had recently acquired her first smartphone and was tentatively learning how to use it. She had taken a photo and wanted to remove a portion of the image on the screen. After some trial and error, she discovered the 'crop' feature and successfully edited the photo. Curious about the other unfamiliar icons, she began selecting them at random, intrigued by the visual effects they produced. In that moment, she sensed she was being offered an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, one she could choose to either ignore or explore.

Looking back, she now sees there were countless signs of her latent artistic sensibility—such as her penchant for color coding and an enduring need to express herself visually. Her creative instincts had been hiding in plain sight. With that small, unintentional step, the pieces of a long-standing puzzle suddenly snapped into place. What once felt obscure became undeniably clear, she had found her path.

From the outset, she understood that her greatest weakness was having everything to learn, and her greatest strength was having nothing to unlearn. She embraced these truths wholeheartedly. Free from expectations, she remained resilient, considering every challenge an opportunity to develop her creative skills. She was fueled by unwavering determination, endless patience, and relentless persistence as she laid the foundation for her artistic voice.

As she progressed, so did her trust in herself and in the mystical power of new beginnings. She remained committed to sustaining a positive mindset. Knowing that openness and curiosity were essential to creative growth, she celebrated every small victory, and embraced missteps without discouragement.

For the first two and a half years, she was completely immersed in her craft—devoting up to ten hours every day learning the digital medium and exploring her creativity. When she finally emerged, she had developed the confidence and capability to share her work with the world. She began submitting to exhibitions and showcasing her art at local events near her home in Colorado.

Creating art and sharing her images with the world is her passion. Every aspect of her life has been enriched beyond anything she could have imagined. She is eternally grateful to be what she never knew she always wanted to be...an artist.

Artist Statement

I came to understand that my artwork is an autobiographical extension of myself. An attempt to translate who I am and what I represent into visual form - speaking where words fall silent.

My creative process is rooted in the cumulative, often subconscious perceptions shaped by my life's experiences. These experiences become the lens through which my imagery is formed. My work emerges from an ongoing dialog between external realities and internal reflections, serving as emotional resonance of my inner landscape. Each image I create is simultaneously a reflection of the past, a snapshot of the present and a glimpse into the future. As I evolve, my intuition absorbs, integrates and translates my growth into creative expression. Working intuitively liberates me from the stifling burdens of control and expectations while strengthening my creativity. Mystery, surprise and delight are intrinsic to both my process and my outcomes.

My creative journey begins with excitement, anticipation and curiosity. I pursue shapes, patterns, colors, light, shadow and texture as they emerge. I closely observe my images unfolding gradually and unexpectedly. I employ a wide array of techniques to embed emotional depth into my work, embracing the endless potential of the digital medium that provides me with magical tools to manipulate pixels in ways that reflect my ever-changing inner landscape.

Through both random experimentation and intentional precision, I focus on crafting images that are fluid yet meticulously structured, using contrast, depth, composition and dynamic interplay between lines, textures and forms to evoke visceral responses.

As an artist, I strive to create work that transcends superficial aesthetics and forges a deep, lasting emotional connection with the viewer. My intention is not to mirror my own experience, but to spark a sense of wonder and personal discovery, offering images that function as visual poetry, open to individual interpretation. I hope each viewer finds something uniquely their own in my artwork, an element or an image that stimulates feelings, provokes thought and invites introspection.

I desire to challenge conventional perceptions of reality, believing that blending cutting-edge technology with creative expression to craft immersive, thought-provoking visuals offers others an exclusive viewpoint to an artistic experience. By merging innovation with imagination, I aim to push the boundaries of how we perceive and interact with imagery, creating experiences that are not only seen, but deeply felt.

I'm impassioned to create beauty that resonates on an emotional level. My ultimate intention is to establish a connection with the viewer, a moment of stillness in a fast-moving world, whether subtle or profound, that speaks directly to the soul.

Iryna had eighteen solo exhibitions, and took part in 60+ national and international group exhibitions. She received awards at several international art contests. Her artworks are in museums and private collections in Ukraine, Germany, Slovakia, and China. Iryna is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. She founded Ukrainian Association of Feminine Research in the Arts (UAFRA) and established an annual Womens’ ArtFest to advocate gender equality in the arts.

Artist Statement

I started my professional art career after having a vast experience in teaching and management. First, painting became a passion, and then it turned into a mode of my life, the major instrument to share my thoughts with people. I analytically convert abstract concepts and typical human emotions into a set of bright visual images with their own characters and stories. My artworks lead the viewers to the world of allegory, inspiring them to start a philosophical search of the hidden senses behind the familiar objects. I develop expressionistic style, and create complex projects with paintings, installations and video-animation as complementary tools to reach multidimensional effect.

Pictures in the application belong to the cycle - Dandelion’s Stories. This cycle is inspired by the philosophical interpretation of a dandelion as a symbol of joy and wisdom, unique power of survival and persistent struggle for life. It grows both in a well-groomed flowerbed and through the ruins of destroyed houses. Its indomitable thirst for life overcomes any obstacles, and the sunny color of his petals carries confidence and hope. Series of surrealistic portraits provides allegories of human characters and emotions.

QUESTIONING depicts a man, who understands that life offers far more questions than answers. HUMILITY tells the story of f philosophical approach to life and readiness to accept it as it is. LOOKING INTO YOURSELF underlines the need for self-analyses and re-evaluation of one’s wins and losses. CRAFTINESS stresses that charm and wittiness often pays off. LOVE is an art smile about an old couple which turned their mutual sympathy and lifelong support into a reliable foundation for happy life. Bright yellow-orange-blue palette of the last two pictures creates an optimistic picture of the overall victory of the sun light.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is extremely pleased to announce that Joel Sobelson has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and he will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.

Joel is an award-winning artist based in North Carolina, USA. He was selected as 1 of the top twelve finalists in the gallery’s 30th Solo Art Exhibition Series. The placement in this competition qualified his artwork to be showcased in this feature.

His Artist Showcase feature will be promoted to hundreds of major news outlets. In addition, the gallery will also be featuring and promoting his artwork in the gallery’s various social media networks for further exposure.

Below are Joel’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 of his pastel artworks submitted to this competition.

Artist Biography

Joel started drawing when he was 5 or 6 years old. The work was basic, but the thrill was genuine.

As he grew up, he was lucky enough to be able to parley that creative spirit way beyond simply drawing. He attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn where he was introduced to the world advertising. He put together a portfolio and was immediately hired by one of the top ad agencies in NYC. He had a long and very successful career as a Creative Director for many of the great ad agencies of the time. Did some really breakthrough work… won all sorts of awards. And retired at just the right time after a 40 year career messing with people’s heads.

Retirement got boring so he began to draw again and rediscovered a passion that he has been pursing ever since. He was lucky enough to find pastels as a medium. The colors, the textures… the possibilities! His imagery began to allow “stories and feelings” to emerge.

One day he experimented by creating a few pieces in black and white. Stepping back from the easel he quickly realized this technique aligned with his subject matter to create a more impactful and emotional experience for the viewer.

Joel’s combination of style and imagery allows stories to emerge, which he tells with all the emotional authenticity, style and heart he can bring to the easel.

Artist Statement

My approach to art is to find a good story, and tell it with all the emotional authenticity, style and heart I can bring to the easel.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is extremely pleased to announce that Lisa Catara has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and she will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.

Lisa is an award-winning photographer based in Georgia, USA.

Below are Lisa’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 of her photographs submitted to this competition.

Artist Biography

As an acclaimed photographer, Lisa Catara's focus lies in looking at the world from a different perspective, finding beauty in the ordinary.

Lisa believes photography saved her. Rather than sit in despair, she bought her first DSLR camera and forced herself to see the world from new perspectives. Out of pain, she found beauty, self-discovery, and absolute magic.

She creates composition which feels intimate/personal, bridging a gap between the work and the viewer. Lisa wants you to feel as if it's your story, too, because she’s learned that- in many ways- we have more in common than we do differences.

Lisa believes art has healing power. She is passionate about cars, travel, and street art.

Artist Statement

As a child of creative curiosity, a lifetime spent in and around the Arts and Entertainment was inevitable. If there's a story to be told, I will capture it. There is beauty to be found everywhere, and in everything.

I have come to be known for my use of composition. I want the viewer to feel as if they're there, that my experience could very well be their experience.

With automotive work, I imagine myself reaching out and grabbing the steering wheel of a rare 1961 Jaguar, or getting under the hood of a brilliant restoration.

In my travel photography, it's never just about the architecture of an opera house, but that by looking, you can almost hear music, ascending throughout the hall. My goal is that my images make the viewer feel '”here and now.”
