Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is extremely pleased to announce that Iryna Akimova has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and she will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.
Iryna is a contemporary, award-winning artist based in Kiev, Ukraine. She was selected as 1 of the top twelve finalists in the gallery’s 30th Solo Art Exhibition Series. The placement in this competition qualified her artwork to be showcased in this feature.
Her Artist Showcase feature will be promoted to hundreds of major news outlets. In addition, the gallery will also be featuring and promoting her artwork in the gallery’s various social media networks for further exposure.
Below are Iryna’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 of her artworks submitted to this competition.
Iryna Akimova graduated from Kharkov State University (Ukraine), where she got her PhD degree. She studied the relationship between psychological personal profiles and the process of formation of subjective perceptions of the reality. Her artworks are full of allegories and invite to a philosophical search of the hidden senses behind the familiar objects. She develops expressionistic style with a surrealistic touch. She started in painting, and then went into installations, video-animation and performance in order to achieve a multidimensional effect.
Iryna had eighteen solo exhibitions, and took part in 60+ national and international group exhibitions. She received awards at several international art contests. Her artworks are in museums and private collections in Ukraine, Germany, Slovakia, and China. Iryna is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. She founded Ukrainian Association of Feminine Research in the Arts (UAFRA) and established an annual Womens’ ArtFest to advocate gender equality in the arts.
I started my professional art career after having a vast experience in teaching and management. First, painting became a passion, and then it turned into a mode of my life, the major instrument to share my thoughts with people. I analytically convert abstract concepts and typical human emotions into a set of bright visual images with their own characters and stories. My artworks lead the viewers to the world of allegory, inspiring them to start a philosophical search of the hidden senses behind the familiar objects. I develop expressionistic style, and create complex projects with paintings, installations and video-animation as complementary tools to reach multidimensional effect.
Pictures in the application belong to the cycle - Dandelion’s Stories. This cycle is inspired by the philosophical interpretation of a dandelion as a symbol of joy and wisdom, unique power of survival and persistent struggle for life. It grows both in a well-groomed flowerbed and through the ruins of destroyed houses. Its indomitable thirst for life overcomes any obstacles, and the sunny color of his petals carries confidence and hope. Series of surrealistic portraits provides allegories of human characters and emotions.
QUESTIONING depicts a man, who understands that life offers far more questions than answers. HUMILITY tells the story of f philosophical approach to life and readiness to accept it as it is. LOOKING INTO YOURSELF underlines the need for self-analyses and re-evaluation of one’s wins and losses. CRAFTINESS stresses that charm and wittiness often pays off. LOVE is an art smile about an old couple which turned their mutual sympathy and lifelong support into a reliable foundation for happy life. Bright yellow-orange-blue palette of the last two pictures creates an optimistic picture of the overall victory of the sun light.

Below are Lisa’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 of her photographs submitted to this competition.
As an acclaimed photographer, Lisa Catara's focus lies in looking at the world from a different perspective, finding beauty in the ordinary.
Lisa believes photography saved her. Rather than sit in despair, she bought her first DSLR camera and forced herself to see the world from new perspectives. Out of pain, she found beauty, self-discovery, and absolute magic.
She creates composition which feels intimate/personal, bridging a gap between the work and the viewer. Lisa wants you to feel as if it's your story, too, because she’s learned that- in many ways- we have more in common than we do differences.
Lisa believes art has healing power. She is passionate about cars, travel, and street art.
As a child of creative curiosity, a lifetime spent in and around the Arts and Entertainment was inevitable. If there's a story to be told, I will capture it. There is beauty to be found everywhere, and in everything.
I have come to be known for my use of composition. I want the viewer to feel as if they're there, that my experience could very well be their experience.
With automotive work, I imagine myself reaching out and grabbing the steering wheel of a rare 1961 Jaguar, or getting under the hood of a brilliant restoration.
In my travel photography, it's never just about the architecture of an opera house, but that by looking, you can almost hear music, ascending throughout the hall. My goal is that my images make the viewer feel '”here and now.”

Brian Hallas is a dynamic and multifaceted artist from Shrewsbury Township, New Jersey, celebrated for his innovative approach to abstract digital photography. His work, primarily crafted using an iPhone, stands out for its vivid use of color, texture, and surreal content. My improvisations often result in painterly abstract images that give viewers a tactile visual experience. I like to entice viewers on an adventure to see the unseen, finding perspectives we don’t normally observe without wearing a very different set of lenses.
My tastes are stimulated by an eclectic spectrum of artists from every art form, era, and genre whose spirits never fail to encourage my creativity. At nearly 72 years old, I have turned to photography as my primary means of creativity, after a long, rich life collaborating in film, music, and particularly the theater, as a sound designer in NYC. I’m an Outsider and a Late Bloomer, and shaping and sharing these abstract photographs is my response to the chaos of modern life, offering both my viewers and I moments of sublime immersion and escape.

Maureen Ravnik was born and raised in Minnesota. She attended the University of Colorado to pursue a career in sales & marketing. Upon retirement, she began in earnest to pursue that dream.

Photography has been my passion since early childhood. I believe the finest images are those that are serious yet playful, aesthetically appealing yet a bit quirky.
As both an artist and an admirer, my favorite photographs tend to be ones whose contents speak loudly for themselves — even when it is not immediately clear exactly what they are saying. Eileen E. Senter is a self-taught digital artist. She has always enjoyed art and dabbled in t-shirt painting, ceramics and clay molding. However, after retirement with the British Government 15 years ago, she chose photography as her medium of choice.
Her first camera was a Kodak instamatic but Eileen has never liked straight out of the camera images and very soon researched various software photography programs that would help her grow as an artist and showcase her artwork. She blends programs together, sometimes two to three times until she gets to the “aha moment!”
Eileen’s favorite subjects are wildlife, flowers, and rural scenes for composites, anything in nature. Her work has been published in the Galveston Monthly magazines a few times.
I am a Digital Artist and Photographer. I am originally from Nottingham, England. I have lived in Spring, Texas for many, many years with my Husband, who is my best friend and avid supporter of my work. I have always had a desire for photography but creating art is my true passion. I work with many Digital Programme’s, sometimes blending them together, using my images to create and compose with the desire of bringing to life what I see through the camera for a finished and combined work of art.

Photography has been my passion since early childhood. I believe the finest images are those that are serious yet playful, aesthetically appealing yet a bit quirky. My overall approach to photography and related forms of artistic production results from the combined influences of Cubism, Expressionism, Fauvism, Impressionism, and Surrealism, all of which affect how I see the world around me and then proceed to document it. This process involves important decisions regarding matters of abstraction, distortion, fragmentation, and emotional effect as well as whether to capture a subject realistically or instead quite innovatively.

Congratulations to Sandy Gherardi for her acceptance into Fusion Art's Featured Artist Members Gallery.
Sandy Gherardi is an award-winning self-taught, fine art photographer based in Washington, DC and Virginia, USA.
Sandy’s love for photography originated decades ago with a Nikon School of Photography weekend course and a Digital Arts course at the Corcoran School of Art. After that, she was hooked!
While she’s often recognized for her abstracts, she also embraces representational photography. She rarely pre-select a location to photograph. She finds subjects everywhere, from the banks of a scenic river to a mundane heap of trash.
Architecture, window and water reflections are among Sandy’s favorites. Never knowing what she’ll discover on any given day, life becomes an adventure.
Sandy was awarded 1st Place Overall/Best in Show for her photograph, "The Big Apple” in the Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery’s 14th Annual “Cityscapes” Online Art Exhibition in June 2024 and selected this Featured Artist membership as her award.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is extremely pleased to announce that Robert Bolla has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and he will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.
Robert is an award-winning artist based in Missouri, USA. He was selected as 1 of the top twelve finalists in the gallery’s 27th Solo Art Exhibition Series. The placement in this competition qualified his photographs to be showcased in this feature.
Robert’s Artist Showcase feature will be promoted to hundreds of major news outlets, with inclusion on Google News & Bing News. In addition, the gallery will also be featuring and promoting her artwork in the gallery’s various social media networks for further exposure.
Below are Robert’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 photographs from his “The World Around Us” series that were submitted to this competition.
Robert’s first experience in photography was when he was offered the opportunity to be mentored in the basics of film photography and darkroom techniques, including such archival techniques as wet plate photography and large format film photography. He carried this experience into his academic career as a biologist, using photography in his teaching and research, where he used photo and electron-microscopy and image analysis to study genetics.
Upon retirement, Robert moved to digital photography and the digital darkroom and focused on nature and street photography, areas in which he directs his viewer to see the relationship between the arts and sciences, and where he develops photos in the digital darkroom in monotone using archival techniques of film photography or in color, depending on the purpose of the story told.
Robert views the photograph as his “novel” to be read by the imagination of the viewer, and thus he crafts the photograph for this purpose. He is interested in showing how cultures may differ but are much the same. His work has been exhibited in physical and online galleries via competitions and in solo exhibits at St. Louis Artist Guild, Bradley University, Peoria Artist Guild, at EuroBiotech Poznan, Poland, and Solo Artist at Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery, among others. He has been in curated exhibits and was awarded 3rd place in the 2022 Fall Exhibition at the International Photographic Hall of Fame and Museum. He is a featured artist at Camelback Galleries and has been Artist of the Month in Gallery Ring and Camelback galleries.
The photograph is, in many ways, a pictorial novel. The photographer does not necessarily write the words, but rather establishes background and character; the imagination of the viewer does the rest. It has a purpose, and like a book, it becomes a storage place for ideas and events and a teaching tool. In my many years as a biologist, using photography as a research and teaching tool, I realized that there is a close relationship between science and the arts.
Clearly, photography can be used to teach this relationship. While the relationship is easily captured in nature photography, it can also be found in human societal and cultural differences. Thus, one of my goals is to use photography to show that even though cultures may differ, they are much the same and that we should see this sameness as we address worldly issues. I try to show this through photography of peoples in their native environment, involved in their daily tasks of living.
In my early mentoring in film photography, I was taught using archival techniques, working primarily in monotone. With the evolution of digital photography and the digital darkroom, I realized that street or candid photography better writes the pictorial novel. As such, I try to capture people as they would be and not posed as they might be, and while I still work in monotone, I also work in color, as this talks about the culture and cultural differences, often better showing the setting of the novel.

These elements were evaluated and judged, which resulted in the selection of the artists who will be featured in individual month-long solo art exhibitions. This was the 25th “Solo Art Series” Art Competition that the gallery has conducted.
Below are Robert’s Artist Biography, his Artist Statement, along with 20 of his photographs. We hope that you will take the time to read Robert’s information and to take a look at his beautiful “Life Along the Amazon” photography series.
Robert first experience in photography was when he was offered the opportunity to be mentored in basics of film photography and darkroom techniques including such archival techniques as wet plate photography and large format film photography. He carried this experience into his academic career as a biologist using photography in his teaching and research where he used photo and electron-microscopy, and image analysis to study genetics.
Upon retirement Robert moved to digital photography and the digital darkroom and turned his focus to nature and street photography; areas in which he directs his viewer to see the relationship of the arts and sciences and where he uses the digital darkroom to emulate archival techniques of film photography such as the orotype developed by Edward Curtis.
Robert views the photograph as his “novel” to be read by the imagination of the viewer and thus he crafts the photograph for this purpose. He is interested in showing how cultures may differ but are much the same. His work has been exhibited in physical and on-line galleries via competitions and in solo exhibits at St. Louis Artist Guild, Bradley University, at EuroBiotech Conference in Poznan, Poland, among others He has been in curated exhibits and was awarded 3rd place in the 2022 Fall Exhibition at the International Photographic Hall of Fame and Museum. He is a featured artist at Camelback Galleries and has been Artist of the month in Gallery Ring on-line gallery.
The photograph must tell a story, not just the story seen by the photographer, but the story read through the imagination of the viewer, it is a pictorial novel. It has a purpose and like a book it becomes a storage place of ideas and events and a teaching tool. In many years as a biologist, using photography as a research and teaching tool, I realized that there is a close relationship between science and the arts.
Clearly photography can be used to teach this relationship. While the relationship is easily captured in nature photography it also can be found in human societal and cultural differences. Thus, one of my goals is to use photography to show that even though cultures may differ they also are much the same and that we should see this sameness as we address worldly issues. I try to show this through photography of indigenous peoples in their native culture, involved in their daily tasks of living.
The photographic technique used by Edward Curtis and contemporary photographers to capture the story and history of native Americans as they were driven from their lands onto reservations in the late 1800’s has my attention. This method of the orotype or gold type photograph brings the viewer’s eye to the main element of the photograph while subduing the background and opens the imagination to his or her reading of the story being told.

In a world where skill and creativity converged, there exists a remarkable individual whose journey from being the world's strongest juggler to a visionary creative photographer has left an indelible mark on both entertainment and artistic communities.
Meet Bob Whitcomb, a name synonymous with unparalleled strength and dexterity. From a young age, Bob exhibited an extraordinary talent for juggling, dazzling audiences around the globe with gravity-defying feats. The world watched in awe as he effortlessly juggled massive weights, earning the title of the "Strongest Juggler on Earth." Yet, beneath the brawny exterior lay a heart yearning for a different form of expression. Bob’s fascination with the interplay of light and reflection led to a transformative moment. It was the discovery of mirrors that unlocked the doors to a new dimension of creativity.
Transitioning from juggling to photography might have seemed inconceivable, but Bobs dedication knew no bounds. He delved into the world of photography, experimenting tirelessly with mirrors to capture ethereal and surreal compositions. These photographs were a manifestation of their deep connection with the physical and metaphysical, reflecting an inner strength that went beyond the physical prowess of his juggling days.
Today, Bob Whitcomb is celebrated not only as the world's strongest juggler but also as a visionary creative photographer who has pushed the boundaries of what is possible. His journey is a testament to the transformative power of passion and the boundless potential of human creativity.
In a world increasingly dominated by digital manipulation, my photography seeks to capture the essence of reality through the tactile and tangible elements of mirrors and lens balls. In an era where Photoshop and post-processing have become the norm, I am committed to the purity of the unaltered image.
Mirrors have long been objects of fascination, offering glimpses into alternate perspectives and hidden angles. By incorporating mirrors into my photographic compositions, I invite viewers to explore new dimensions within familiar scenes. The reflective surfaces become a canvas for reality, distorting and reshaping the world around us, while simultaneously revealing aspects often unnoticed. This play with reflections encourages viewers to reconsider their surroundings and question the boundaries of perception.
Lens balls, on the other hand, are like crystal orbs that capture a unique view of the world. These glass spheres bend and refract light, creating mesmerizing distortions and a dreamlike quality to the images they produce. Unlike digital filters or post-processing techniques, lens balls allow me to manipulate light and color at the moment of capture, infusing a sense of magic and wonder into the scene.
By eschewing digital manipulation, I invite viewers to engage with my photographs on a visceral level, connecting with the authenticity of the moment. In a time when the line between reality and artifice is increasingly blurred. Mirrors and lens balls are not just tools; they are windows into the extraordinary within the ordinary, and my photography aims to reflect this transformative power.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is extremely pleased to announce that Gabiko IoMo has been named as the Gallery’s new featured artist and she will now be promoted by the gallery for the next 14 days in the gallery’s Artist Showcase.
Gabiko is an award-winning artist based in Canada. Gabiko was selected as 1 of the top twelve finalists in the gallery’s 25th Solo Art Exhibition Series. The placement in this competition qualified her art to be showcased in this feature.
Gabiko’s Artist Showcase feature will be promoted to hundreds of major news outlets, with inclusion on Google News & Bing News. In addition, the gallery will also be featuring and promoting her artwork in the gallery’s various social media networks for further exposure.
Below are Gabiko’s Artist Biography, Artist Statement and 5 artworks that were submitted to this competition.
Skillful in various crafts, Gabiko IoMo — European blend naturalized in Canada (Montreal) — has always practiced art in one form or another. In the last decade, she become a digital painter and built a very consistent portfolio. Her unique technique and style have been rewarded with prizes in numerous art competitions. She participated in an international group exhibition and her paintings are in private collections.
Gabiko paints, by small patches, on black background — sometimes covering it completely, other times creating outbursts of unexpected meanings — where the gloss or roughness of the surfaces bring a touch of realism to the chaos of the abstract. Using only basic old software (and the mouse to draw), she’s playing with volumes and lights, keeping forms in balance and hues in harmony. Everything around — shadows, sounds, perfumes, textures — can inspire her and joyful, vibrating spots of life (ready to be used) fill her insomnia when it is dark outside.
The artworks of Gabiko IoMo — invariably square — are fashioned with exuberant colours and some of them may have a militant message or a hint of irony.
I believe art is essential for humanity: it reflects the mind, the soul and the philosophy of each nation and its expression punctuates the history.
I like everything related to creative activities requiring genius, but what make me vibrate are images. Being familiar with computers, it was easy for me to pass from the art crafts that I practiced for long years to the revolutionary digital art — the more so as when I paint, everything else disappears. It’s only me, the mouse and my subject.
And the subject, I can understand it deeply (since it imposes itself to my feelings). I know exactly how it will look once transferred on canvas: I "see" the whole as if it were ready and framed. It only remains to materialize what had germinated in the imagination. I work nonstop (always following a plan) and my creations are full of colour and joy — strong, sometimes hyperbolic, always honest. It is possible that my art will not please the public, but it will not go unnoticed.
Gabiko’s art can be found on her website.
