BOONE, NC - February 03, 2012 / -- Debra Vanderlaan is pleased to announce that she was selected as a Finalist in the Appalachian Mountains Photography Competition 2012. There were 49 finalists chosen in seven different categories.
Her image, titled “Morning Pink”, was selected in the Flora and Fauna category out of over 1000 entries overall. The image “Morning Pink” was captured on a foggy spring morning along the roadways of southern Appalachia, near Murphy, North Carolina.
All finalist images will be shown on opening night February 3, 2010 at the Turchin Center art gallery of the Appalachian State University which is located in Boone, North Carolina. Top awards totaling over $4000 will be awarded on March 31 at a special artists' reception at the University. All finalist images will hang in the gallery until June 1st and the show is open to the public.
