About The Artist
Ruben Morancy is a self-taught artist who currently lives in Windsor, CA. He was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. As a child, Ruben was hyperactive and his mother, a talented seamstress, whose passion was Haitian embroidery, encouraged him to draw as a means of focusing his energies and to keep him out of trouble. Thus, to calm himself, Ruben drew and painted with water colors, as well as designing and building colorful kites in order to focus his creative energies.
