Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery is proud to announce that Yanrong Zhou has been selected as one of four winners in Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery's 32nd "Solo Art Series" Art Competition. Emma’s month-long solo art exhibition will be featured on the gallery’s website, YouTube channel, and in the “Solo Art Series” Archive.
Yanrong Zhou is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning artist based in China. The gallery will now promote her with an extensive online public relations campaign.
Promotion of Yanrong Zhou’s solo exhibition will include the distribution of press releases to hundreds of major news outlets. The Gallery will leverage Light Space & Time’s extensive social media network to promote Yanrong Zhou and her art.
Yanrong Zhou's work will also be showcased on the gallery's YouTube channel, and promoted via an event postcard, award ribbon, and certificate.
The “Solo Art Series” highlights the work of established artists, who have a body of work to showcase, through a series of online monthly solo exhibitions. Artist participants were asked to submit the following 3 components for the “Solo Art Series” competition: 1. Their art. 2. Their artist biography. 3. Their artist statement. A careful evaluation of the submissions led to the selection of four artists for month-long solo shows, ensuring a diverse range of artistic styles and approaches would be featured.

Over the course of her career, Yanrong Zhou has built a distinguished record of recognition in pastel painting across both national and international exhibitions. Her work first gained attention in 2018, when Looking Up received a Nomination Award and Pulling Weeds earned an Excellence Award at the National Pastel Art Exhibitions held by Suzhou Ming Art Museum. This momentum continued into 2019, when White was selected for the prestigious 47th Annual Exhibition of the Pastel Society of America, and Sublimation claimed another Excellence Award in Suzhou. Her 2022 pastel Sea went on to win Second Prize at the Shanghai Pastel Painting Summer Online Exhibition, further cementing her standing in the Chinese pastel art community.
In the years since, Zhou's work has been consistently recognized at the national level. Not Being the Boss for Years was selected into the 4th National Pastel Exhibition of China in 2023, and Master Wu was featured in the 5th "Xu Beihong Spirit" Chinese Painting and Oil Painting Exhibition in early 2024. More recently, Waiting received an Excellence Award at the 2024 New Year Online Exhibition of 89 Art Community, while Nobody Cares earned a place in multiple 2025 pastel exhibitions. Rounding out her international reach, Looking Up was awarded an Honorary Nomination at the 2025 American Portrait Art Competition and was selected into a female painters invitational exhibition the same year.
I use my brush like a hoe and have worked on my three-foot canvas for over thirty years. I believe true art is not far away but in every breath, and my brush is an honest witness that only paints what I see with my eyes and hold in my heart. What the paint builds up is not perfect technique, but the rough and warm texture of life itself. In an era swept by fast-paced culture, I choose to stick to slowness, letting my colors stay bright and unfading, and I only do one thing: use my brush to fight against forgetting. I think the value of art lies not in depicting grand spectacles, but in finding eternal beauty in the small, ordinary parts of life. Every stroke of color is a quiet whisper between me and the world, and every work is a snapshot of time like amber. In this age of hurry, I am willing to be a slow craftsman, observing the world in a simple way and spending the rest of my life in this sincere dialogue with beauty. My creed is not in words, but in every unfinished painting and the morning light that will rise again tomorrow.
